Where is Float Orange located?

You can find us at 38 Forbes Road in Orange. We're located in the Orange Chiropractic Centre

Floatation therapy! What is it?

"Floating, Floatation Therapy, Isolation tank, Sensory Deprivation or restricted environmental stimulus therapy (REST)” all refer to the process of spending time in the spacious Float Orange Dreampod. It is located in a purpose built space within the Orange Chiropractic Centre. The room and the Dreampod design help to eliminate light and sound sensory distractions from the outside world. The centrepiece of your floatation experience at Float Orange is our "Dreampod", a state-of-the-art pod filled with almost 400kg of Magnesium Sulphate (Epsom salt) and dissolved into 400 litres of water. The Epsom salts used at Float Orange is imported from Germany because of it's high and pure magnesium grade.

The water in the Dreampod is heated to the typical normal skin temperature for you to enjoy maximum relaxation. This temperature similarity can sometimes create the funky sensation of not knowing where your skin ends and the water begins ... an immersive,

feeling-at-one with the water sensation. When floating in our Dreampod, there are no outside distractions or noise. Time can seemingly stand still - an hour float seems to pass in the blink of an eye!

The incredible buoyancy of the water causes you to feel like you're virtually weightless. It reduces the stress and loading on your entire body. It helps you to soothe your body and calm your mind.

Who should not float?

Thankfully, almost everyone can safely float however there are a few exceptions and we respectfully ask you to not book a session if you are 16 years of age or younger or if you fall into any of the categories below.

Floatation is not recommended if you have any of the following conditions;

- epilepsy

- kidney disease

- low blood pressure

- any contagious disease, including diarrhoea or gastroenteritis (and for 14 days following)

- open wounds or skin ulcers

Furthermore, check with your health practitioner before booking a float session if you're less than 35 weeks pregnant or concerned about the following;

- heart conditions

- asthma

- sensitivity to chlorine, bromine, sulfate or magnesium

When is Float Orange open?

Our opening hours are variable. The best way to see if there is a session time available is to log onto our online booking system and choose a time and day that works for you. Click on the "Bookings" button in the menu to find your float time.

How much does it cost?

Your first float with us is $85. When you join us for your first float, you'll receive your Float Orange loyalty card which entitles you to significant discounts for subsequent floats for 12 months. (Insiders tip ... if you're like many of our clients who get hooked on soothing their body and calming their mind every 3-4 weeks, your average float cost is less than fifty bucks per month!)

For how long are float gift vouchers valid?

All vouchers must be completely used within three years of the purchase date with the exception of vouchers donated to fundraising organisations. These vouchers must be used by the date on the voucher.

We recommend you encourage your gift recipient to experience floating bliss sooner rather than later. In fact, they can book a float as soon as they receive your gift. Have them log onto floatorange.com.au and book their float. Have them enter the unique voucher code in the notes section when they book and they'll be set to enjoy their floating bliss.

** IMPORTANT -  the gift voucher MUST BE PRESENTED when checking in for the float session, otherwise the full float fee of $85 will be charged.  Also please note that EXPIRED GIFT VOUCHERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

How clean is the water?

The short answer is VERY clean.

Before and after you float, every single molecule of water is filtered multiple times. The high salt content of the water alone is enough to kill most bacteria however, we also use three additional filtration processes so you can have absolute peace of mind about the cleanliness of the water.

The main filtration device is a food grade stainless steel enclosure which holds a replaceable filter that's capable of capturing particles as tiny as 1/4 the diameter of a human hair. After passing through this filter, the water is then pumped through an array of powerful ultraviolet lights which further sanitises the water. In addition to this, we also use a dual chemical injection system which allows us to infuse the water with other non-skin irritating disinfectants.

So, yes ... the water in our float tank is always clean and hygienic.

Can I float with a friend?

It's only human to want to share great experiences with your friends however, we have just one Dreampod at Float Orange and it is designed for a single person floating experience only. Beyond this reason, one of the great benefits of floating is that you can best relax and re-energise with genuine "me time". So, you can share your experience with your friends by giving them a gift voucher or encouraging them to book a session for themselves.

Are there height and weight restrictions?

Not specifically. The pod is quite spacious inside and we've had 200cm tall people enjoy their float sessions and people of 150+ kg float comfortably as well.

What do I need to bring to my float session?

You really only need to bring yourself! Float Orange also provides towels, toiletries, shower, soap, shampoo, conditioner, toilet and hair dryer for your convenience.

How do I prepare for my first float session?

When you join us for the first time, please arrive 10 minutes ahead of your scheduled session time. We ask this so we can welcome you and take the time to walk you through the process of floating and share some tips on how you can get the greatest possible benefit from your first Float Orange experience.

What shall I wear when floating?

It's up to you...you can either wear a swimsuit or your birthday suit during your float experience. The float room is completely private and we invite you to make the choice you're most comfortable with.

Can I float if I'm pregnant?

Its recommended you consult with your GP or specialist prior to floating if you're pregnant. Please do not book a float session if you are at or beyond 35 weeks gestation.

Can I float if I'm menstruating?

Yes you can. We respectfully ask that you use either a tampon or a menstrual cup and swimwear, just as you would if you were using a friend's pool or spa.

What if I fall asleep?

Fantastic! That means you're really relaxed and yes, it's safe to do so. The extremely high salt content of the water makes you so buoyant that you can't sink ... it's almost like you're a cork, gently floating in ta calm ocean! You can't even accidentally roll over either. So yes, it is safe to fall asleep when floating.

How often should I float?

Your very first float may very well be a profound, life-changing experience. However, like any new experience, you may need to enjoy a series of floats before you learn to fully relax and let go of your physical, mental and emotional stresses. At Float Orange, we encourage regular floating by offering reduced price float sessions for our guests who join us regularly.

What if I'm claustrophobic?

Most people have their concerns eased once the see the roominess of our float pod. It's more spacious than you'd think and when floating, you're in complete control ... you can leave the lid open or have it closed. You can have the lights in the pod on or off ... it's all up to you. We want your experience at Float Orange to be a comfortable and relaxing one.

Will I end up looking like a prune after my float?

Ha ha, no! Despite the fact you're in water for up to an hour, your skin won't wrinkle because the high concentration of Epsom salts acts as an emollient which, like a good moisturiser, soothes and hydrates your skin.
